Portside Marina Policies
  • Portside Marina dockhands and staff will be easily recognized in their bright orange shirts. Upon approaching the marina, please hail the dockmaster on marine channel 68. Dock slips will be assigned by the dockmaster. You will be given a docking ticket which lists your slip number, time of arrival, and boat data. Please proceed promptly with ticket in hand to the marina office to check in.
  • When making overnight reservations, Portside Marina will require a credit card number to confirm the booking. The card will not be charged, but held on file to guarantee the reservation.
  • Boaters visiting for the day will also be required to provide a valid credit card. If a boater leaves the marina without checking out and settling their dockage charge the credit card on file will be charged for the overnight dockage fee.ancor image
  • Restrooms and showers are locked at all times. A key card will be issued with a $10 cash deposit. The deposit is refunded upon return of the key card. Locked restrooms result in easier access to a cleaner facility and key cards are expected to be returned at the end of each visit.
  • A 24 hour advance notice is required to change or cancel your reservation. If you do not cancel within that time period, your credit card will be charged one night docking based on your boat’s specifics.
  • Cancellations due to weather are understandable and will not be charged. The Portside dockmaster will have the final say regarding a cancellation based on current and forecasted weather conditions and boat specifics.
  • Group rendezvous are welcome at Portside Marina. Please call the marina office for more information. We can be reached Mon. - Thurs. at 419-746-2668.
  • Holiday week-ends are defined as: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Island Fest, and Labor Day. A 2 night minimum is required on those dates. Reservations are strongly recommended. Boaters departing after one night will still be charged for the second night’s docking.
  • Boats requiring 2 slips will be charged accordingly.
  • Only 1 power outlet is provided per boat. It is the owners responsibility to provide a splitter if necessary.
  • A flat fee of $6 for 30 amp service and $8 for 50 amp service is charged to all boaters docking overnight. This fee covers water, electric, utilities and trash. This is a “one time “ per visit fee.
  • Portside Marina accepts jet skis and wave runners for a flat fee of $5 per day. They will not be placed in our standard docks therefore space is limited.
  • Dinghies and jet ski’s add to the overall length of the boat and will be charged accordingly.
  • Portside is a pet friendly marina. Dogs must be leashed at all times and it is the owners’ responsibility to pick up after their dog. We have two “doggie stations” where you can obtain clean up bags and deposit waste.
  • Open containers are not permitted to be carried into the bar/restaurant area. Likewise, beverages purchased at Dockers cannot leave the premises and be taken to boats. Docks are regularly patrolled by KIPD and Portside Marina cannot be responsible for issues arising from breaking this rule.
  • There is absolutely no grilling permitted on boats or floating docks.
  • Portside Marina abides by Kelleys Island sound ordinance. Loud music and noise is prohibited after 10 pm.
  • In order to assure their return prior to office closing, golf carts and bikes will not rent out by the hour after 6 pm on weekdays and 7 pm on weekends unless they are overnight rentals.
  • Portside Marina does not accept personal/business checks. We do accept cash and all major credit cards. A minimum of $10 is required for all credit card transactions.
  • Portside Marina reserves the right to refuse docking to any boater for any reason.
